For many who are trudging through the Internet about iTunes, iPad, AppleTV and Home Sharing of digital media over your home network: At least as far as Qwest and its Actiontec modem/router is concerned, forget it.

The Actiontec does not support Bonjour, Apple’s name for the IGMP protocol, which is required for Home Sharing on Apple devices. A firmware fix is in the works, due sometime in 2011.

I have iPhones, an iPad, an Airport Express, a MacBook and a Windows 7 and iTunes, but cannot use Home Sharing, Remote on the iPhone or multiple speakers (with the Airport Express) because none of ‘em can “see” the others due to the Actiontec.

I had one o’ these as a kid in the 70′s! (and a 56 chevy later).
They’d only accelerate if I asked ‘em to!

…and parents of the kid down the street had one of these. We’d get in it, put it into gear and press the “Start” button and the starter motor would take us up ‘n down the street.
I’d shoot my kids if they did that! (…if I had kids)

Feb. 11, 2010, the Atlas rocket carried a satellite to orbit and provided a show on the way up by sending visible shock waves though a cloud layer. Watch for the sun-dog on the right, and how the shock waves disturb the cloud layer so that it vanishes. No lie!
